Pigment Sketch is a fun AI-powered tool to allow parents, teachers and self-publishing creators to leverage generative AI to create Coloring Pages for kids.
With this project I wanted to build something fun and quick so I could focus on marketing efforts and make some money - even if its very little money. So I took an idea I already saw people making money with and differentiated my product on pricing model and simplicity.
I learned how to perform competitive analysis using this guide and decided that users didn’t need a monthly subscription model since their frequency of use was low. So I opted for a credit based model.
I leveraged AI building tool Codeium inside VSCode and the latest web framework Next.js 14 with App Router and TypeScript to build this. I am using AWS for hosting this and deploying with the help of SST (Serverless Stack) and OpenNext. I integrated with Stripe for Payments and I am using Supabase as my cloud PostgresQL DB and also for Authentication.
The tool has been built in 2 weeks and I am iterating based on the feedback I get from family and friends. I am also planning out the marketing experiments I would like to work on.
